昨年8月から、奈良県庁で外国人から見た奈良の魅力を、多くの人に知ってもらえるよう情報発信する仕事をしています。
奈良に来て初めての冬には、なら瑠璃絵や若草山焼きを見に行きました。日本では花火は夏の風物詩ですが、イギリスでは秋冬のものです。山焼きで見た冬の花火は母国を思い出させてくれました。奈良県には外国人観光客が知らない魅力的なイベントが多いです。今後も奈良県の魅力をたくさん発信していきます。
Since August last year, I have been working for the Prefectural Government to let
more people know about how amazing Nara really is.
In my first winter in Nara, I went to see both the Nara Rurie illuminations and the
‘Yamayaki’ festival at Mt. Wakakusa. Fireworks are very much a summer attraction
here in Japan, but back in the UK we mainly associate them with the autumn and
winter. ‘Yamayaki’ thus reminded me, in a strange way, of watching fireworks like
we do in the United Kingdom. There are a large number of great events held here in
Nara that are still unknown to most foreign tourists, and I look forward to letting as
many people as possible know about what the prefecture has to offer!
