The Spirit of Hospitality in Nara Prefecture

DECLARATION FOR HOSPITALITY IN NARA PREFECTURE

Nara is the birthplace of Japanese culture, and said to be the "land that holds the heart of the Japanese people."  This legacy commencing with the select UNESCO World Heritage can still be witnessed today due to the presence of numerous cultural heritage sites that have been carefully preserved and managed within a beautiful natural landscape.

Visitors to Nara have been well satisfied in their pursuit of these history, culture and nature, a triple combination that ensures unforgettable memories.  And, there is much more awaiting every visitor.

From this year and continuing to the year 2010, the approach towards "The Commemorative Projects of the Heijo-kyo Capital 1300th Anniversary" has just started.

We would feel a deep sense of gratification if the Nara "Spirit of Hospitality" gives visitors to Nara Prefecture a lasting and pleasing experience; our goal is for everyone to utter the phrase:  "it is wonderful to be here and I will definitely return."

We aim at getting Nara Prefecture become "The Oasis of Relaxation for the Kansai Region", thereby providing beauty, warmth and pleasure to those visiting Nara as well as her local inhabitants, by making our community full of "Spirit of Hospitality"!

We would like to make an official declaration to visitors that Nara’s local occupants, its government and concerned others will strive together, to successfully instill "The Promotion Campaign of the Spirit of Hospitality in Nara Prefecture," by targeting the following initiatives:

  • To have love for and pride in our own local community, and to unite the strengths of every citizen in order to foster its enchantment.
  • To build communities filled with kindness by deepening a communion of heart with every person we meet in our daily activities.
  • To contemplate and focus on every encounter with tourists, business visitors, and all other individuals who come to Nara.  And to offer the highest quality of services to visitors, and attend to them with cordiality so that they can take away wonderful memories of their experiences in Nara.
