「Kaki (persimmon) cake」
Masaoka Shiki, a Japanese famous haiku poet wrote a well known haiku “Taking a bite of Kaki, suddenly the bell of Horyuji ringing”. This is a Japanese pound cake that uses dried Kaki from Nara.

The deliciously moist pound cake is made without alcohol; the ingredients include Anpo persimmons (soft-dried persimmons grown in Nara and Yoshino), eggs and butter. It’s topped with a matcha (green tea) whipped cream and persimmon puree. Enjoy it in a set with Yamato tea, a characteristically mellow tea grown in the Yamato Plateau region.
